Cranial Cruciate ligament rupture
Surgery for rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament is the most common reason for opening a joint. Most small breeds are treated using the lateral fabellar suture technique after correcting any meniscal tear injuries. Large or active breeds are more effectively treated by the Tibial plateau levelling osteotomy TPLO method.
Medial patellar luxation
Sulcoplasty for Medial patellar luxation. The angle of the tibial tuberosity is usually realigned to correct the direction of the pull of the patellar ligament.
Elbow joint disease
Most cases of elbow disease including fragmented coronoid process FCP and osteochrondrosis are now assessed by arthroscopy. Ununited anconeal process (UAP) is seen fairly commonly in German Shepherd dogs (GSD) and we have found that proximal ulnar ostectomy has lead to a reduction in lameness and a fusion of the UAP in most cases where the UAP is quite stable. This may be assessed arthroscopically.
Additionally the ununited anconeal process UAP may be repaired with a lag screw placement into the fragment using a guide wire and a cannulated
screw. This is particularly useful if the UAP is unstable.

Joint surgery
Examination of the meniscus during surgery for cranial cruciate ligament rupture. The meniscus and stifle may also be examined in a minimally invasive manner by arthroscopy
Osteochrondrosis / OCD of the shoulder is also very successfully treated by arthroscopy. Stifle OCD can also be approached either by arthroscopy or by open arthrotomy and removal of the cartilage flap.
